Donation
Furniture, housewares, and clothing in good condition go to local charities and donation centers.
Did you know? Donation centers can hit capacity — for certain items or across the board. They accept what’s most useful to the people they serve, and we respect that. We never drop off items a center doesn’t want or need, because that just shifts the burden of disposal onto them. Part of doing this well is knowing which centers need what, and when.
Recycling
Metal, cardboard, and appliances get separated and sent to recyclers. Scrap metal alone keeps a surprising amount of weight out of the landfill — it adds up fast.
Resale
Some items, especially from estate cleanouts, are tough to donate because of their condition or style — but that doesn’t mean they’re trash. Vintage furniture, tools, and collectibles often get a second life through resale. One family’s “old stuff” is another family’s new find.
Hazardous Materials
Paint, chemicals, TVs, and other hazardous items get pulled aside for safe disposal. We take them to designated drop-off sites and collection events – everything is handled properly.
Landfill (Last Stop)
Whatever’s left after donation, recycling, resale, and hazardous material separation goes to the landfill.
